RPM 2nd Time

I stumbled across this gem of wisdom yesterday. It actually makes a lot of sense why time seems to be passing so quickly.

The other thing about getting on with age is the constant injuries that seem to occur so easily. I was just, to my detriment, proclaiming how I've had relatively few injuries since starting body pump, less lower back pain, etc. The gods of musclepull must have in ired by my bold statement, and as a result, .....not only have I got the tennis elbow, but low, a mild lower back pain.

I slapped on some old man plasters for the elbow, and might have to do so for the lower back. There's something about the smell, I actually quite like it. That medicated, deep heat-ish aroma that wafts around you like body odor. Except it smells much more palatable than body odor, of course.

That's my arm, by the way, not the leg.

In a continuation of the HEALTHY LIVING series, lunch yesterday comprised of this office made salad. Tuna (in water, not mayo), Lettuce, Mushroom and Mango. No dressing. Verdict? Bordering on disgusting.....but edible.

Since the elbow injury made it difficult to even JAB, the usual body combat was out of the question. Probably due to rain, the class seemed to have shrunk by half anyway. The following class was Body Step, with FSI, but I'll be doing that today, so I thought I'd go back, after a month's hiatus, to ARRR PEEE EMMMM. Raw Power in Motion. Although the schedule said HERNY, the person who taught was Cameron. Cool looking dude, also a PT there. Having only had Wes and Eric (who robbed me of my RPM virginity), I have no other instructors to compare with, so I found it okay. Learnt from my mistakes of the 1st time, so cranked down the resistance in the beginning, so that I wasn't worn out by the end of the warm up. The class seemed to pass a lot faster than the first time, but STILL, it was TORTURE.

Wuaaa, injured also go for RPM. Respect.
It never gets easier for me, even after 50 classes...

shades: thank you for your offer. the fact that "take care" is in inverted commas oridi makes me shudder in my seat.

pick yin: i've been looking out for you la, have seen several lasses with your type of trendy glasses, but obviously it wasnt you. the only reason it got slightly easier was i started off at very very low resistance, as opposed to last time...when i almost died after warm up.

Isn't your body telling you something?? You are getting old and you have to slow down with all these combat & body pump stuff. Its time to move on to Tai Chi.....

tiger: haiya, if i had listened to my body, which is usually quite loud, i'd have started on tai qi or qi gong like 10 years ago....

Besides the usual choice of Wes and Eric, my personal RPM favorites also includes: Lynn, Jon Tan, Herny and of course for entertainment purposes (think M'sian Idol :P) would be no other than Shades himself!
