T.G.I.M.

Yup, after a hectic weekend, and sleep deprivation (this baby here need his 8 hours of proper sleep), I'm almost glad it's Monday. Two weeks of the new year have already zoomed past.

Friday : Decided to change scenery a bit, so headed down to Dsara Uptown FF, for body combat with FCI. (since I haven't been to his classes yet this year). The jam was horrendous, and I was making a mental note to avoid ever going there again at that hour. But however, it seemed to have been worth the effort, for it was an enjoyable class. Meanwhile, I heard I had missed an interesting pump class back at MJH. Sigh. Well, if "someone" hadn't "usurped" the combat slot in MJH, I could have had the best of both worlds on Friday night. Oh, FSI was also there in DU, waiting to teach his step class. Had to clarify to him that I wasn't stalking him.

Saturday:Body Pump after lunch. Friend's daughter's birthday party, very upscale, in one of the 5 star hotels in town. I was quite pleased, because it meant I could nip over to neighbouring Sg Wang to pick up some "stuff". Another friend at the party was off similar mind, and was going to Low Yat Plaza as well, so it was a pleasant walk, with the cool evening breeze blowing in our faces. The breeze was to later on evolve into a full fledge monsoonal storm, leaving me trapped in Sg Wang, and I wasn't prepared to spend RM10 to buy an umbrella. Anyway, by the time I figured out how to get over to Lot 10 via the pedestrian bridge, the rain has subsided.

After the tea party, it was dinner at a highly overpriced, overated restaurant serving indochinese food. But for reasons I simply cannot understand, the place is usually quite crowded. The ambience is nice, but still..... anyway, it was a gathering of old friends, whom I hadn't seen in years. We were all in the service together back in the late 80s. One of them is emigrating to Vancouver. Brave lass, trotting off to far off lands with no job there, no family....

After that was drinks at Luna Bar, to celebrate the good doctor's birthday. The red planet and chubby sabahan crowd looked glams as usual, and the backdrop of the glittering KLCC tower (only one tower is visible from that place) made it rather enjoyable..... but made it sheer torture for the NEXT morning when......

I had to be in church at 8-ish am, as I was on duty to operate the projector and PC. It's quite a challenge, without enough sleep, and in all probably, with the hint of the smell of distillery.....and the speaker at the first service was using powerpoint slides for his sermon as well, so had to be alert. Fortunately, the reprieve came during the 2nd service, when the guest american speaker did not require the use of the pc or projector during his 40 minute sermon. As wife was there for 2nd service, I reminded her to wake me up before the sermon ended.

Embarrasingly enough, sunday step instructor asked me if I had a hangover yet again....had to sheepishly say "errr....yes, as a matter of fact". Now he is under the impression that I am a regular pisspot. Discovered another fellow member who has the same FCI as me. Actually, the minute he said he goes for combat at the curve, and not MJH, I straightaway knew oridi who he meant. Actually I was debating whether I should try the step class in DU that afternoon, but it was pouring heavily, so I didn't bother. The idea originally was to drop off the kids at their friend's birthday party, and I scoot off to DU.

Sunday dinner with family not on, coz had friend's birthday at Noble House. Too much food, too much food.

i say tiger, body combat, step, etc are all the group exercise classes that are offered in my gym, fitness first. my wife oso goes to gym, called fitness last. combat, step, attack are high intensity aerobic workouts, you know, i have to wear tight leotards and prance around like a ballerina, while body pump is more for toning, and involves using a pump. i mean, bar. bar with weights. then there's body balance, which combines elements of pilates, etc etc... for stretching etc...which requires the agility and flexibility of a 8 year old virgin. and this is how i have been keeping my life interesting.
